Every week Barry picks a plant that he wants to show off. Week commencing 25/09/23 is:
Cotinus ‘Royal Purple’ or more commonly known as the Smoke Bush is a lovely bushy, deciduous shrub.
It has rounded dark red/purple leaves which turn a striking bright scarlet in the Autumn. In summer it produces plumes of small pink flowers which resemble a haze of smoke hence the common name.
Best grown in a bed or border where it has room to show its full beauty 🍁🍂
